A power cut affected parts of Harrow this evening (Sunday, 10 August), including Wealdstone.
UK Power Networks confirmed that the outage was due to a fault on an underground high-voltage electricity cable, which caused an area-wide blackout.
The incident impacted nearly 200 properties across two postcode areas – HA1 1 and HA3 5. The outage area included parts of Harrow town centre, Marlborough Hill, Headstone Road, and surrounding streets.
National Rail confirmed that Harrow and Wealdstone station was also without power. They posted: “A power cut at Harrow & Wealdstone means that trains are unable to call at this station. As a result, trains will be revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.”
Power was restored to most properties and the station opened again as normal from around 11:30pm.
A map released by UK Power Networks showed the affected zone stretching from Harrow town centre up towards Marlborough Hill and parts of Wealdstone.
