A major development could see up to 150 new homes built on land at Headstone Lane in Harrow. The plans, to be put forward by Barwood Land, also include public open space and new infrastructure.
A planning application is expected to be submitted in Autumn 2025, following public consultation and talks with Harrow Council. The site is currently classed as ‘Grey Belt’ land, meaning it could be transformed into housing if approved.
The land, which was once used as a sports ground, sits next to Pinner Park Farm and is surrounded by residential areas. Developers say the scheme will feature green spaces, walking and cycling links, and measures to encourage residents to use public transport instead of relying on cars.

Some residents have already voiced concerns about the impact the development could have. They are worried about losing green space, more traffic on local roads, and added pressure on schools, GP surgeries, utilities and infrastructure. Others have raised questions about the long-term effect on the environment.
Surveys of the land describe it as mainly grassland and scrub with low conservation value, with woodland and hedgerows expected to remain. Developers say the homes will be built to high environmental standards, with features such as electric vehicle charging, renewable energy sources and improved biodiversity.
Barwood Land said the project will offer a range of house types, including affordable housing, and will “provide a valuable contribution of family housing in Harrow”. They are urging people to share their views before the application is submitted. You can read more here.
