Pictures shared with Harrow Online show flags hung along Field End Road and the Main Parade in Eastcote as part of the campaign known as Operation Raise the Colours.
The initiative, which encourages people to display national flags in their local communities, has already been seen in South Oxhey and other parts of Watford.
Since Harrow Online reported on the South Oxhey flags this morning, the story has sparked a lot of debate, with an image shared of the display being viewed hundreds of thousands of times online.
Reactions to the movement have been mixed. Some residents see the flags as a show of local pride, while others have questioned whether the campaign carries a wider political message. Online reports also claim that a man in Stevenage was attacked with a ‘firebomb’ on Saturday, 23 August, after putting up flags.
The flags in Eastcote highlight how the campaign is spreading across different areas, with conversations continuing about what the displays mean for local communities.
