Harlequin shopping centre in Watford has announced that dogs are now welcome inside participating stores.
The new policy launched on Tuesday, 26 August, to coincide with National Dog Day. More than 70 shops have signed up, including Apple, Zara, Costa, H&M, Hotel Chocolat and Oliver Bonas.
Stores taking part will display a ‘dog friendly’ sticker in their windows, and guidelines have been put in place to ensure visits are safe for both shoppers and pets.
To mark the launch, the centre has set up a selfie station with a red carpet for owners to take photos of their dogs. Water bowls have also been placed around the centre, and shoppers who share photos on social media will be entered into a competition.

Simon Plumb, Centre Director at Harlequin Watford said: “We’re thrilled to welcome dogs to Harlequin. This is just one of the many ways we’re creating a space that’s fun and inclusive for everyone. We can’t wait to see shoppers and their pups enjoying everything the centre has to offer.”
A full list of participating stores and further details on the guidelines are available on the Harlequin website.
