Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters have been tackling a large fire at a row of terraced houses on Silkstream Road in Burnt Oak.
The fire is now under control.
The London Fire Brigade said the roof, most of the first floor and part of the ground floor of one mid-terraced house were alight. The roof and half of the first floor of another house were also on fire, while the roofs of two further properties were damaged. Half of the roof of a fifth house was also alight.
Local residents were advised to keep windows and doors shut because of smoke in the area.
One of the Brigade’s 32-metre turntable ladders was used as a water tower to help tackle the blaze from above.

Control Officers received the first of 36 calls about the incident at 4:04pm and sent crews from Hendon, West Hampstead, Mill Hill and surrounding fire stations. The fire was under control by 6:11pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.12pm today (25 August) to reports of a fire on Silkstream Road, HA8.
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and paramedics from our hazardous area response team.
“Our crews assisted our emergency services partners at the scene but were later stood down.”
