People are being advised to avoid Harrow View this afternoon (Monday, 6 October) after a major house fire forced the road to close in both directions.
Four fire engines were called to the scene, and the closure is expected to cause delays, particularly during the school rush period.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade told Harrow Online, “Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters have been called to a house fire on Harrow View in Harrow.
“The first floor and loft conversion of a house is alight.
“People are advised to avoid the area whilst firefighters work to extinguish the fire.
“The Brigade received the first of nine calls at 1538 and crews from Harrow, Northolt and Stanmore fire stations have been sent to the scene.
“The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.”
As of 6pm, the road remained blocked off, and Harrow View was still closed both ways near the junction with Harley Road.
The fire has now been extinguished, and firefighters are staying on site to dampen down hotspots. There have been no reports of any injuries.
