Grange Primary School celebrated its TfL Travel for Life Gold Accreditation with a special visit from BBC Radio London this week.
The honour is the highest award given by Transport for London to schools that promote safer, healthier, and more sustainable travel. It recognises Grange Primary’s ongoing efforts to encourage pupils, staff, and families to walk, cycle, or use public transport instead of driving to school.
In the morning, pupils represented the school in interviews with Gem O’Reilly from BBC Radio London, while Councillor Hitesh Karia visited to show his support.

The school was also joined by Harrow Council and Hip-Hoppy the Hare, who helped make the day memorable. Pupils took part in cycling workshops and enjoyed a Fusion Extreme stunt show, organised in partnership with Harrow Council.
The afternoon saw even more excitement with BMX workshops for children in Years 3–6, followed by a finale performance from three-time Guinness World Record holder Matti Hemmings of Fusion Extreme.

Grange Primary School has made the news several times over the past year, from earning TfL’s Gold award for promoting active travel to hosting a community Navratri celebration. Pupils have taken part in STEM workshops, launched a school radio station, and even helped support local families through a police Christmas appeal.
The school described the most recent celebration as “a fantastic day filled with teamwork, energy, and community spirit — a true celebration of our school’s ongoing active travel journey.”
