Preston Road in Wembley was closed in both directions early this morning (Wednesday, 15 October) following an altercation that left two men injured.
Emergency services were called to the junction of Preston Road and Elmstead Avenue shortly before 2am. The London Ambulance Service said two patients were treated at the scene and taken to hospital as a priority.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said, “Police were called at 01:56hrs on Wednesday, 15 October to reports of an altercation between a group of men on Preston Road, Wembley.
“Officers attended, alongside the London Ambulance Service, and found two men in their 40s with head injuries. They were both taken to hospital and their conditions are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
“The road has now reopened and enquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or online, quoting CAD 449/15OCT. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
The road was closed at around 5:20am, with police cordons in place for nearly four hours. Several bus routes, including the 79, 204, and 223, were diverted through nearby roads such as Forty Avenue, Fryent Way, and Kingsbury Circle.
The cordon was lifted and the road reopened at around 9am. A car could be seen within the cordoned area earlier this morning.
