Fire crews tackle blaze on Kenton Road as police close the road in both directions

Kenton Road in Kingsbury was shut in both directions this evening (Sunday, 26 October) after a fire broke out at a garden shed near the junction with Claremont Avenue.

The fire started at around 6:20pm, with several fire engines from London Fire Brigade called to the scene. Police closed the road while crews worked to bring the blaze under control.

Bus routes 183 and SL10 were being diverted, with delays in the area.

People living nearby have told Harrow Online they saw thick smoke and shared photos and videos from the scene as firefighters continued their work.

The road reopened at around 9:10pm with the blaze safely under control.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said, “We were called at 1759 hrs yesterday (26 October) to reports of a fire on Kenton Road, Kenton.

“Firefighters attended and discovered a garden shed fully alight. The fire was safely extinguished by crews by 1830 hrs. The external fascia of a nearby garage also sustained a small amount of damage.

“There were no reports of any injuries.

“The Brigade’s Control Officers received 10 calls about the fire and mobilised three fire engines from Wembley and Stanmore fire stations to the scene.”
