A large police presence was seen in Watford last night after an incident that left a woman in her 30s needing hospital treatment.
Local people said they spotted multiple police cars and ambulances at the car park in Wellstones, just near the town centre.
A spokesperson for Herts Police said, “Police investigating an assault in Watford are appealing for information and witnesses.
“The incident happened inside a residential property on Wellstones, just after 4pm on Sunday 23 November.
“During the altercation, a woman aged in her 30s suffered injuries to her chest and abdomen which required hospital treatment. Her condition is not thought to be life-threatening at this time.
“A neighbourhood policing presence remains in Wellstones today (Monday 24 November) provide reassurance to the community.
“Investigators are currently following several lines of enquiry and are appealing to anyone who was in the Wellstones area between 4pm and 4.30pm on Sunday.
“If you saw any suspicious behaviour, or have information you believe could assist police, please get in touch quoting ISR 450 of 23 November.”
