A man has been arrested in Harrow Weald as part of Operation Velastra, a police initiative launched to tackle rising concerns about motor vehicle offences in Hatch End and Harrow Weald.
The operation saw officers from the Hatch End and Harrow Weald Safer Neighbourhood Teams patrolling the area on Wednesday, 3 December, looking for suspects linked to recent vehicle crime.
Acting on local intelligence, officers attended an area in Harrow Weald where Acting Police Sergeant Rob McLuskey spotted a man acting suspiciously. The suspect tried to get away by entering an alleyway but was stopped a short distance away. Police checks confirmed he was wanted on three separate matters.
He was arrested by PC Jones for being wanted, along with two offences of theft from a motor vehicle and one offence of vehicle interference. The man has now been charged and is set to appear at Magistrates’ Court.
