A prolific shoplifter has been banned from entering several major retailers across England and Wales after receiving a Criminal Behaviour Order at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 4 December. The order will remain in place for three years.
Mark Williams, 46, from Northolt, was issued the order following persistent offending. The conditions include a ban on entering any Waitrose & Partners or Sainsbury’s store in England and Wales. He must not enter any retail premises wearing a hooded garment, head or face covering, and must not enter any shop without means of payment. He is also required to leave any business premises immediately if asked by an authorised person.
The order follows Williams’ latest conviction on 4 December, where he was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison after pleading guilty to seven counts of theft.
Acting Police Sergeant Rob McLuskey said: “My teams have worked hard to secure this conviction and Criminal Behaviour Order. This action is about protecting our community and supporting local businesses. We want residents and shop staff to feel safe and reassured that we are tackling repeat offenders and doing everything we can to prevent further crime, making Harrow a safer place for everyone.”
