A man from Harrow has been charged following an investigation into alleged comments made during a demonstration in Swiss Cottage.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were investigating an incident in which a man was alleged to have expressed support for the October 7 attacks and Hamas during a demonstration on 20 September 2024.
Mohamed Hassn, also known as Mohamed Al-Mail, 27, from Stanmore, has been charged with intentionally causing racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress, contrary to Section 4A of the Public Order Act 1998 and Section 31 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.
An investigation was launched after footage of the incident was shared online. Hassn was arrested the following day and later bailed.
Police said that in January this year, a file of evidence was sent to the Crown Prosecution Service, which twice determined that no further action should be taken.
Officers continued to engage with the CPS to challenge that decision, and have now secured a charge.
Hassn is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 19 January 2026.
