A vulnerable elderly man who went missing in Harrow Town Centre was safely reunited with his carers after a quick response by police.
The incident happened on Greenhill Way after the man became separated from his carers, prompting an urgent call to officers.
The Greenhill Neighbourhood Policing Team attended within minutes, with support from Metropolitan Police mounted officers who were already patrolling the town centre. From horseback, officers were able to scan busy areas and crowds more effectively.
Within five minutes of the alert, the man was located and returned safely to his carers.
Sgt Tom Owen-Evans said: “I’m incredibly proud of how quickly my team acted to protect someone vulnerable. Having our mounted officers on hand made a real difference, their visibility and ability to see over crowds gave us an edge in a busy town centre. This is a great example of teamwork keeping people safe.”
The man and his carers later left the town centre safely.
