Two food outlets at St Anns Shopping Centre in Harrow have been given food hygiene ratings of two out of five following routine inspections carried out in November.
The ratings were issued by Harrow Council after food safety officers visited the premises as part of regular checks.
The outlet trading under the name Rollover, located in a unit at the shopping centre food court, was inspected on 27 November. Inspectors said improvement was necessary in relation to hygienic food handling. The cleanliness and condition of the premises were rated as good, while food safety management was found to be generally satisfactory. The inspection resulted in an overall rating of two.
Following enquiries from Harrow Online, it was clarified that the business operating under the Rollover name is independently owned and is not part of Rollover Limited. A spokesperson said the outlet has no corporate, legal or operational connection to the company, apart from occasionally purchasing certain products. They also stated that the location previously operated as a Rollover franchise, but that arrangement ended more than ten years ago.
The Subway at St Anns Shopping Centre was inspected on 25 November. Inspectors found that food handling and food safety management were generally satisfactory, but said improvement was needed in relation to the cleanliness and condition of the premises. The kiosk was also given an overall food hygiene rating of two.
Food hygiene ratings are based on conditions found at the time of inspection. A score of two means that improvements are required. Businesses are able to make changes and request a further inspection once issues have been addressed.
