West London is set to benefit from a major boost to night-time transport from this Saturday with the launch of a new night bus route linking central London with Ruislip.
From Saturday 17 January, Transport for London will introduce the new N118 night bus route, running between Trafalgar Square and Ruislip station via Wembley, Sudbury Hill, Northolt Park and South Ruislip.
The new service will run every 30 minutes on weeknights and every 15 minutes on Friday and Saturday nights.
TfL says the route has been introduced following growing demand for late-night travel in west and north west London, and will provide direct overnight links to key locations including Wembley, Harrow Road, Kensal Green, Harlesden, Maida Hill, Paddington and central London.
The new N118 route will replace the existing night bus journeys on the N18 between Trafalgar Square and Sudbury & Harrow Road station. The N18 will continue to run between Trafalgar Square and Harrow Weald.
On the shared section between Trafalgar Square and Sudbury & Harrow Road station, the two routes will be timed together, providing a combined service every 7 to 8 minutes on Friday and Saturday nights and every 15 minutes on Sunday to Thursday nights.
TfL says the new service will introduce a much-requested night bus link for Ruislip and help support late-night workers, businesses and the night-time economy.

The introduction of route N118 will give customers in Ruislip and the surrounding areas new overnight connections, opening up easier access to jobs, leisure and essential travel across the capital. We will continue to monitor the network closely to ensure these changes deliver the best possible experience for our customers.”
TfL says more than 120 bus routes now operate through the night across London, covering more than 17 million kilometres in the last financial year alone.
The new N118 service will start running from Saturday 17 January.
