Hatch End residents turned out in the rain on Saturday (31 January) to meet Harrow’s Local Policing Team at a community street briefing focused on recent burglary concerns in the area.
Around 40 residents attended the session, showing strong local interest in keeping the neighbourhood safe. Officers gave an update on current burglary issues, explained the work already taking place, and shared practical advice to help people better protect their homes.
Residents were also able to raise concerns about their own streets and ask questions directly. Police said the conversations were “invaluable” and helped them build a clearer picture of local issues while reassuring residents about the action being taken to deter offenders.
More than 18 people signed up to the Met Engage platform during the event, helping improve direct communication between residents and local officers and allowing safety updates to be shared more quickly.
Despite heavy rain, the briefing went ahead thanks to Saddlers Mead Cricket Ground, which offered use of its pavilion so the session could continue safely and without interruption.
Acting Sergeant Rob Mcluskey said: ‘The briefing was warmly received by those who attended and underlined the importance of strong partnership working between the police and the community. We remain committed to maintaining high-visibility patrols, listening to residents’ concerns, and working together to keep Hatch End a safe place to live’.
