Police cordoned off part of Rectory Park in Northolt this morning, Thursday 12 March, after a teenage boy was assaulted in the park.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 5am on 12 March following reports of an attack. Officers attended alongside paramedics and the injured teenager was taken to hospital for treatment. The park was partially sealed off while officers carried out enquiries.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said, “Police were called at around 05:00hrs on Thursday, 12 March to Rectory Park, Northolt, following reports of an assault. Officers attended with paramedics and 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening or life-changing. He has since been discharged from hospital.
“Officers arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody.
“A cordon was in place at Rectory Park while officers carried out enquiries. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting CAD 722/12MAR or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
