Police carried out a day of action across Harrow on Wednesday 25 March, targeting traffic offences and local crime in two key areas.

Officers from the Harrow Local Policing Team began with a traffic enforcement operation on Honeypot Lane in Stanmore, following concerns from residents about speeding and road safety.

During the operation, a number of motorists were stopped for offences including speeding, no insurance and no valid MOT. In total, officers dealt with 10 motorists for speeding, 2 for driving with no insurance and 1 for operating a vehicle without a valid MOT.

All drivers were issued with a Traffic Offence Report (TOR), which can be used instead of a fixed penalty and may involve drivers being referred to educational courses.

Later in the day, officers carried out further patrols on Mollison Way in Edgware, close to the Harrow boundary and the industrial area.

Two people were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and possession of Class A drugs. Both were taken into custody for further investigation.

PS Dave Jones said: “Today’s activity shows our commitment to tackling both traffic offences and local crime. From addressing dangerous driving to arresting individuals involved in shoplifting and Class A drugs, our officers are working hard to keep the community safe.”
