Waitrose in Ruislip has reopened following a multi-million pound refurbishment, with the store undergoing a nine-week transformation.
The supermarket, which first opened more than three decades ago, has reopened after a multi-million pound upgrade. The 20,000 sq ft store relaunched at 8am on Friday 27 March, with a number of changes aimed at improving the layout and customer experience.
Inside, several areas of the shop have been updated. The meat and fish counters have been modernised, including the addition of a dry-aged beef section. A redesigned bakery has also been introduced, alongside new refrigeration systems intended to improve energy efficiency.

Electronic shelf-edge labels have been installed across the store, and a new John Lewis Click and Collect desk has been added to handle orders and returns. Customers can also order deliveries from the shop through platforms such as Deliveroo and Uber Eats, as well as directly via the Waitrose website.
The refurbishment also includes a wider range of food options, including fresh produce, baked goods and specialist items such as sushi and cheese.
Branch Manager, Ian Everett, said: “We are proud to have been part of the community in Ruislip for more than 35 years. As well as a new look, we are investing in improvements to bring an even better experience to our customers. We are very grateful for everyone’s patience during the transformation and look forward to serving the neighbourhood for many years to come.”

David Simmonds, Member of Parliament for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner, who attended the reopening, said: “It is great to see this investment being made in a much-valued part of our community here in Ruislip. I know that residents will welcome this refurbishment and it will have benefits for the whole high street.”
The Ruislip upgrade forms part of a wider national investment programme by Waitrose, which includes refurbishing existing stores and opening new locations across the UK.
