Multiple arrests in South Harrow as police step up patrols

Police in South Harrow made multiple arrests at the end of March as part of increased patrols targeting anti-social behaviour and repeat offenders.

Officers say the activity has led to several people being taken into custody, including a wanted man, individuals linked to theft offences, and suspects found with prohibited items.

Two men were found inside and officers were called to assist. After carrying out checks, one man was found to be in possession of prohibited items, while the other initially gave false details before being identified as wanted for multiple theft offences.

Both were arrested, charged and taken before the courts. One has since received a suspended custodial sentence with a rehabilitation requirement, while the second is due to return to court for sentencing in May.

A man wanted for breaching a Criminal Protection Notice and failing to attend a police appointment was located and arrested. He has since been remanded in custody in connection with a separate investigation.

PC Parsons said: “This week shows the determination of our neighbourhood officers. By staying visible, knowing our local offenders, and acting quickly, we are making sure people are held accountable and that community concerns are addressed.”

Checks revealed one of the men was wanted in connection with a theft investigation in Hillingdon. He was arrested at the scene, later charged the same day, and taken into custody for both the theft offence and possession of prohibited items.

Sergeant Harte said: “This was a good example of local officers trusting their judgement and taking the right steps. By engaging early, they were able to identify a wanted individual and deal with the situation quickly and safely.”
