Transport for London (TfL) has submitted updated plans for step-free access at Burnt Oak Underground Station.
The plans are part of a wider project to make the station easier to use, including a new lift and a bridge linking the platforms. This latest application doesn’t change the overall plan. It’s a small update to designs that were first approved in 2019.
The changes include tweaks to the lift, new seating near the lift area, and an extra glass safety screen. There are also some structural changes to the bridge and stairs, along with adjustments to floor levels.
Planning documents say the updates have been made as the design has progressed, including for safety and maintenance reasons . The step-free scheme is part of a wider programme to improve access across the London Underground network .
The application was submitted on 29 April and is now being considered by Barnet Council. The consultation runs until 22 May.
