Harrow residents reveal their favourite comfort spots across the borough

What’s your go-to place in Harrow when you need cheering up? That was the question posed by Harrow Online, and the replies ranged from genuine local favourites to the usual jokes about leaving the borough altogether.

Among the most popular serious answers were places like Headstone Manor Park, Harrow Hill, Trinity Bar in Harrow Town Centre, Eastcote Gardens and Hatch End’s Moon and Sixpence pub.

Edward Foster said he enjoys “a walk on the Hill, Trinity Bar, browse in Waterstones, cinema, nice street food in Market Place,” while Julia Elmer picked Trinity Bar for Indie Choir Harrow events.

Others chose comfort food spots including Sakonis, Silver Dollar in Rayners Lane – which for those who don’t know is one of the oldest pizza shops in Harrow, B&K Salt Beef Bar on Whitchurch Lane and Morley’s in Wealdstone.

Victoria Gasmi said her choice was the “Dolls house on the hill,” while Wendy Wade picked “The Castle pub.”

Some residents preferred quieter escapes. Smita Shah chose “Headstone Manor and a green spot on the crossing opposite St. Ann’s,” while Irina Solo said: “The Gold’s Gym, for the swim.”

But many comments took a more tongue-in-cheek approach, with replies including “The tube station to get away from it,” “The road out of Harrow,” “The airport,” and “The M1.”

One comment that drew laughs from others simply read: “140 bus stop out of Harrow.”

Despite the jokes, the responses also show just how many places across Harrow people associate with relaxing, socialising or escaping the daily stresses of life. Where do you like to hang out? let us know in the comments on our socials.
