Lloyds Bank has announced that its Harrow branch on Station Road opposite the old Debenhams will close permanently later this year.
A notice on the bank’s website states that the branch is due to close on 23 September 2026. The specific building at 286-288 Station Road in Harrow was constructed as a purpose-built branch for Lloyds Bank and opened in 1904.
The bank says that Financial Conduct Authority rules require LINK, the organisation that oversees access to cash services across the UK, to review the impact of the closure on the local area.
The notice states: “This branch is due to close permanently on 23 September 2026. Financial Conduct Authority rules mean that LINK have reviewed Access to Cash in the local area. LINK will publish the outcome of this review.”
Lloyds says it carries out a review before closing branches and publishes documents explaining how the decision was made, as well as feedback received from the local community.
The bank also says it considers how customers will continue to access banking services after a closure. This can include the introduction of Community Bankers, Banking Hubs or deposit services where required.
In information published alongside the closure notice, Lloyds said: “When making changes to our branch network, we always look to understand the impact on our customers – including how they continue to access banking services.”
