Police have arrested a male and recovered a knuckle duster during a proactive policing operation in Harrow Town Centre.
Officers were carrying out high-visibility patrols in Percival Square on Saturday 20 June following concerns raised by the community about anti-social behaviour. The patrols form part of ongoing efforts to prevent disruption, deter offending and maintain a visible presence in the town centre.
Youths detained after foot chase
While in Percival Square, officers met with private security teams to discuss issues affecting residents, visitors and businesses in the area.
During the operation, officers spotted a group of youths who attempted to leave when they saw police. When officers approached them, the group ran, leading to a short foot chase. Three individuals were detained across nearby streets and a nearby car park.
Police dog helps locate weapon
As officers dealt with the incident, a member of the public alerted them to an item believed to have been discarded during the chase. A specialist police dog unit was deployed to search the area and recovered a large knuckle duster concealed beneath a parked vehicle.

One male was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.
Police Sergeant Rebecca Bridges said: “This was a clear example of proactive policing having a direct impact. I’d like to thank our partners who supported us during the operation, as well as the members of the public who were quick to alert officers to the discarded item. That level of cooperation and trust between the police, our partners and the community is vital and plays a significant role in maintaining safety and effectiveness across the town centre.”
Continued focus on Harrow Town Centre
The latest arrest comes as police continue a series of targeted operations across Harrow Town Centre aimed at tackling crime and anti-social behaviour.

Police have also carried out increased patrols, intelligence-led searches and other enforcement activity in recent months as part of wider efforts to support businesses, address concerns raised by the community and maintain a visible presence in the town centre.
Police say patrols will continue across Harrow Town Centre, with a focus on addressing concerns, supporting local businesses and ensuring people feel safe as they go about their day.
