The former Wenzel’s bakery on Wealdstone High Street has now been vacated and remains empty as of 8 July 2026.
On Google, the business is currently listed as “permanently closed”. Harrow Online understands that a buyer has been found for the site, although it is not yet known what will take over the unit.
The premises, located on Wealdstone High Street a short distance from Harrow & Wealdstone station, had previously been placed on the market.

Wenzel’s Wealdstone site remains empty
Harrow Online has approached Wenzel’s for clarification following the closure. The unit sits on a busy stretch of Wealdstone High Street, surrounded by a mix of national chains and independent businesses and is directly opposite the Asda supermarket.
When Harrow Online originally reported on the site being listed for sale, many readers said they would like to see an independent bakery take over the premises. One member said, “Why can’t we see an new bakery take over? surely all the things are there to make this happen, we need more independents in the borough and I for one would become a regular customer!”
Another Harrow Online reader said, “Costa’s are closing all over Harrow, there is one in Rayners Lane and Pinner that have gone, can we get some more coffee shops please?”
Others suggested a butchers would be a welcome addition to this part of Wealdstone. Let us know what you think, what would you like to see open in this unit? let us know in the comments on our socials.
