Two men have been arrested after vigilant Police Community Support Officers spotted a knife being discarded while on patrol in Wealdstone.
The incident happened in Byron Park, where neighbourhood PCSOs were carrying out routine foot patrols when they saw a man throw away a knife.
Recognising the potential risk to public safety, the officers immediately kept the suspect under observation while providing responding police officers with key information.
Their quick actions allowed officers to locate and detain two men a short time later. A knife was recovered from the scene and both men were arrested on suspicion of offences relating to the weapon.

A spokesperson for the Wealdstone Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This incident demonstrates the value of visible local policing and the vigilance of our PCSOs. Their quick thinking and professionalism allowed officers to act swiftly, resulting in a weapon being recovered and two arrests being made. Removing knives from our streets remains a key priority and we will continue to take robust action to keep our communities safe.”
Both men have since been released under investigation while forensic enquiries continue.
