A fresh planning application has been submitted to convert a house in Wealdstone into five self-contained flats, just weeks after Harrow Council refused an earlier proposal for the site.
The latest plans for 84A Peel Road would see the existing three-bedroom semi-detached house converted into two studio flats, two one-bedroom flats and one three-bedroom flat.
The application also includes a single-storey front extension, single and two-storey rear extensions, a first-floor side extension, roof alterations, new parking spaces, landscaping, boundary treatment, and bin and cycle stores.
Previous application refused
The new application follows the refusal of an earlier scheme for the property on 17 July 2026.
That proposal sought permission to convert the house into three flats, but Harrow Council rejected it after raising concerns about the design and layout.
In the decision notice, the council said: “The proposed development, by reason of the means of entrance for two of the three proposed flats, sited along the narrow side passageway, would result in unsafe and indirect means of entrance.”
The council also said the layout of one of the flats would provide a poor standard of accommodation due to a lack of natural light and raised concerns over privacy for future residents. Overall, it concluded the proposal failed to meet Secure by Design and inclusive design principles.
Five flats now proposed
The applicant has now returned with revised plans, increasing the number of proposed homes from three to five.
The property would also be extended at the front, side and rear, with alterations to the roof, new parking spaces to the front, private amenity space, landscaping, and bin and cycle storage.
Harrow Council will now consider the latest application before deciding whether planning permission should be granted.
