One of Pinner’s biggest community events is returning next weekend, with RoxyFest set to take over Roxbourne Park for an afternoon of live music, food, family entertainment and its popular dog show.
RoxyFest 2026 will be held on Sunday 6 September from 11:30am until 5pm, with entry completely free.
The event is organised by the Friends of Roxbourne Park and has grown into an annual fixture for families from across the borough.
What’s happening at RoxyFest 2026?
This year’s event will feature a children’s funfair, face painting, street food, local business and charity stalls, ice cream and candy floss.
Live music will run throughout the afternoon, with organisers saying three different music acts are due to perform.
The Fun Dog Show will once again be one of the main attractions and will be judged by Medivet Pinner. The Roxy Pavilion will also be serving tea, coffee and homemade cakes.
While admission is free, a bucket collection will be held for people who would like to show their appreciation for the bands performing on the day.
How did RoxyFest begin?
The story behind the event actually goes back more than a decade – and dogs played a part in it from the very beginning.
Friends of Roxbourne Park was formed following a conversation between dog walkers in the park in 2015. According to a history of the group published by the Pinner Association, some of the questions raised during that conversation included: “Why don’t we have a dog show?” and whether the pavilion could be used for community events.
A membership campaign followed later that year, with the Friends group becoming a formally constituted community organisation in 2016. Today it has more than 600 members.
Records show the new group was already organising events during 2016. A Family Fun Day was held at Roxbourne Park on 18 September 2016, while an earlier community fun day had also taken place that May. This means the event that eventually developed into today’s RoxyFest can trace its roots back around ten years.
It has grown considerably since then. When RoxyFest returned in September 2021 following a two-year break due to the pandemic, more than 200 dogs entered the dog show across six categories.
More than just an annual event
The Friends group is active throughout the year and has helped with tree planting, the community orchard, improvements around Yeading Brook and events at the pavilion.
Roxbourne Park itself is also due further improvements, including an updated and extended playground, new paths, flood prevention measures and work to the pavilion.
RoxyFest 2026 takes place at Roxbourne Park, Cannon Lane, Pinner, HA5 1JF, on Sunday 6 September from 11:30am to 5pm. Entry is free.
