Wingstop is lining up a new restaurant in Harrow town centre after a premises licence application was submitted for St George’s Shopping Centre.
Lemon Pepper Holdings Limited, which operates Wingstop across the UK and Ireland, lodged the application with Harrow Council on August 26.
The application relates to Wingstop Harrow, Unit 14, 9 St George’s Shopping Centre, St Anns Road, and is currently listed by the council as a new application awaiting issue.
Licensing documents describe the proposed site as a ground-floor restaurant with customer seating, a servery, kitchen, toilets and back-of-house facilities. The company has asked for the licence to begin “ASAP”.
What is planned for Wingstop Harrow?
Plans submitted with the application give a clearer idea of what customers could expect if the new restaurant goes ahead.
The proposed Wingstop would have 68 seats inside, with no external seating. The unit covers around 233 square metres – or 2,510 sq ft – and plans also show a dedicated click-and-collect and Deliveroo lane, alongside a walk-in chiller and freezer and staff facilities.
Wingstop is seeking permission to sell alcohol from 10am until midnight, Monday to Sunday, while late-night refreshments would be available between 11pm and midnight every day.
The licence application also proposes a number of conditions. These include CCTV recordings being kept for at least 31 days and the operation of a Challenge 25 scheme for alcohol sales.
An incident log would also be maintained, while delivery riders would be instructed not to cause unnecessary noise when collecting orders. Notices would ask customers leaving the restaurant to respect nearby residents and businesses.
Which shop would Wingstop replace?
Wingstop would take take over Ryman’s former unit at St George’s.
St George’s Shopping Centre recently announced that Ryman had reopened in a brand-new ground-floor unit “just a few stores down from its previous location”, leaving its former shop available for a new occupier.
Signage is up around the unit stating “Get ready for what’s next” and a QR code linking to the St George’s website.
From Texas to Harrow
Wingstop began in 1994 in Texas and has since developed into a major international restaurant chain. As of June this year, the company had 3,255 restaurants worldwide, including more than 500 outside the United States.
Its UK story began when Wingstop signed an agreement with Lemon Pepper Holdings in 2017 to develop 100 restaurants across the country. The first UK restaurant subsequently opened at Cambridge Circus in central London in 2018.
That target has now been reached. Wingstop UK and Ireland opened its 100th restaurant in Inverness on August 21, just days before the Harrow licence application was submitted.
The business has been expanding rapidly. Lemon Pepper Holdings reported revenue of £216.4 million for 2025, up 73% year-on-year, and has said it plans to open up to 30 new restaurants across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland during 2026.
What happens next?
The Harrow application is still going through the licensing process, the public licensing notice states that representations can be made in relation to the application until 23 September 2026.
