Sadiq Khan enjoys Sunday brunch at Hatch End café

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan was in Harrow over the weekend, stopping off for brunch at Kafe Ador in Hatch End.

Khan shared pictures from the visit on Instagram on Sunday, 6 September, where he was seen posing with members of staff inside the café.

Posting about the visit, he wrote: “Great to have a lazy Sunday brunch at Kafe Ador in Harrow – Turkish fusion with a London twist.”

Kafe Ador, on Uxbridge Road in Hatch End, is a relatively new addition to the area and has built up a following for its breakfast, brunch and lunch menu since opening in late 2024.

The café serves a mix of Turkish and Mediterranean-inspired dishes alongside familiar brunch favourites.

The venue describes itself as a relaxed neighbourhood café, and Khan’s visit appeared to be exactly that – an informal Sunday stop rather than an official mayoral engagement.

Photos from the visit show the Mayor standing with staff in front of the cafe’s distinctive floral wall and neon sign.

Sadiq Khan’s recent visits to Harrow

Khan is no stranger to Harrow and has visited the borough on a number of occasions in recent years.

During the 2024 London mayoral election campaign, he spent time in Harrow meeting residents and speaking to voters, with one of his visits taking him to the Rayners Lane area.

Harrow was one of several outer-London boroughs that received significant attention during the campaign, particularly as transport, the cost of living and the future of London’s roads became major election issues.

Earlier visits have included a trip to Harrow-on-the-Hill station in 2022, where he marked the completion of step-free access improvements, including the installation of new lifts.

He has also visited London’s Community Kitchen in Wealdstone, including during the cost-of-living crisis, when the organisation’s work supporting families and residents across the borough was highlighted.
