Spice Village is set to open a new restaurant in Harrow after acquiring the site previously occupied by Adore.
The restaurant will become Spice Village Harrow, with an opening planned for 1-4 Dominion Parade, Station Road, later this year.
The group, which began as a small takeaway in Tooting in 2004, has since expanded into restaurants, catering and hospitality.
Its new Harrow restaurant will serve South Asian food, with traditional coal grills, charcoal and tandoor ovens among the cooking methods being used.
Spice Village confirms Harrow opening
Suleman Raza MBE, founder of Spice Village Group, said: “Harrow is not simply another location for us. It is one of London’s most diverse communities, with people who understand authentic food and have high expectations of quality and hospitality.”
He added: “We know that trust has to be earned. We want to bring Harrow the food and service that built the Spice Village name, while creating a restaurant that reflects the tastes, traditions and character of the local community.”
The restaurant is also expected to include one of the group’s largest vegetarian selections to date, aimed at both vegetarian customers and families with different dietary requirements.
Spice Village said its kitchen will continue to use traditional cooking techniques, with food prepared using coal grills, charcoal and tandoor ovens.
Raza said: “At Spice Village, authenticity is not simply about the name of a dish. It comes from how the food is prepared. It is in the marination, the fire, the charcoal, the smoke and the patience required to develop the right flavour.”

Group started in Tooting in 2004
Spice Village first opened as a small takeaway in Tooting more than 20 years ago.
It has since grown into a wider restaurant and hospitality group and has received recognition including the Tiffin Cup and British Curry Awards.
The company said that despite expanding over the years, it wants the new Harrow restaurant to have a strong local focus.
“We want Harrow residents to see this as their Spice Village, not simply our next branch,” said Suleman Raza. “It should be somewhere people feel proud to bring their families, friends and guests, whether they are joining us for a simple meal or celebrating an important moment.”
New jobs expected in Harrow
The opening is also expected to create jobs across kitchen, restaurant service, management and hospitality roles.
Recruitment details have not yet been released and are expected to be announced as preparations continue.
The company also said it plans to build links with local businesses, schools, charities and community organisations after opening.
Work is currently taking place on the Harrow menu, staff training and the final design of the restaurant.
An exact opening date has not yet been confirmed, with further details about the launch and reservations expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
