David Simmonds MP has launched a petition calling for action to protect the future of Pinner Post Office following confirmation that the TG Jones store on Bridge Street is set to close.
The Conservative MP for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner is encouraging residents to add their names to the campaign as concerns continue over access to postal and banking services in the area. Simmonds has represented the constituency since 2019 and was re-elected following the 2024 boundary changes.
Petition launched over Pinner Post Office
On his website, Simmonds said the Post Office is facing closure because it currently operates from inside TG Jones.
He said: “We must ensure that these services remain available to the very people who depend on them. If you would like to join me in helping to secure the future of the Pinner counter, please add your name to my petition.”
The campaign also highlights concerns about older and vulnerable residents who may find it more difficult to travel to alternative branches or use services online.
Harrow Online previously reported closure
Harrow Online recently reported that the TG Jones branch in Pinner is due to close, in turn closing the only local Post Office in the area.
The shop was previously a WH Smith before being rebranded as TG Jones after the brand sold its high street business to Modella Capital. Harrow Online has also recently reported on separate plans involving the upper floors of the Bridge Street building.
