Plans to convert a house in Stanmore into three separate flats have been approved by Harrow Council, after an earlier scheme for five flats was turned down.
The application relates to 107 Gordon Avenue, close to the junction with Kenton Lane. The existing detached house will be converted into a one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom flat.
The development also includes a two-storey rear extension, changes to the roof, landscaping, parking, cycle storage and bin facilities. An existing rear extension and outbuilding will be knocked down.
Earlier five-flat scheme was refused
A previous application proposed converting the property into five flats but was refused in November 2025. The latest plans reduced the number to three, cut the size of the rear extension and reduced the proposed parking from four spaces to three.
The earlier scheme raised concerns including the amount of private outdoor space, privacy for neighbours, highway safety and biodiversity.
The applicant said the revised proposal followed discussions with council planning officers and described the new plans as a substantial change from the previous submission.
Council approves revised plans
For the latest application, two neighbouring properties were notified and no responses were received. Council teams also raised no objections, subject to conditions.
Planning permission was granted on September 7, subject to a number of conditions, including landscaping requirements, a construction logistics plan and privacy measures such as obscure glazing on some windows.
