Classic films return to Vue Harrow for anniversary screenings

Movie lovers in Harrow will have the chance to see a number of classic films back on the big screen over the coming weeks, including Raiders of the Lost Ark, Scream and Rocky.

Vue Harrow, based inside St George’s Shopping Centre in the town centre, is showing a selection of films celebrating major anniversaries throughout September, October and into November.

The season is already underway, with Raiders of the Lost Ark returning from 11 September to mark its 45th anniversary. The 1981 adventure introduced audiences to Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones and went on to become one of the best-known films of the decade.

Also back from 11 September is The Transformers: The Movie, which is celebrating 40 years since its original cinema release.

Horror favourites return in October in time for Halloween

Several well-known horror films will return to Vue Harrow in the run-up to Halloween, which falls on a Saturday this year.

The Craft and The Others will both be screened from 16 October, marking their 30th and 25th anniversaries respectively. They will be followed by Scream from 23 October, 30 years after the slasher film was first released.

Before then, Michael Mann’s thriller Manhunter will be back on the big screen from 25 September. The film, released in 1986, was an early screen adaptation featuring the character Hannibal Lecter.

Daniel Craig’s first James Bond film, Casino Royale, returns from 2 October as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth, also released in 2006, will be shown from 30 October.

The season finishes with one of the biggest anniversaries on the list, as the original Rocky returns from 6 November, 50 years after the film starring Sylvester Stallone was first released.

James Kinsella, General Manager of Vue Harrow, said: “At Vue, we love being able to showcase the very best of the big screen, whether that’s brand-new blockbusters or iconic titles from cinematic history. As 2026 marks the anniversary of some incredible films, we’re excited to be able to bring back these excellent stories to the big screen – the way they were meant to be seen.”

Tickets for the anniversary screenings start from £7.99 when booked online.

Changes at St George’s Shopping Centre

The screenings come as there are other changes taking place at St George’s Shopping Centre.

Harrow Online recently reported that US chicken chain Wingstop is preparing to open a new restaurant at the centre.
