Harrow man ordered to pay more than £9,000 after performing doughnuts in BMW

A Harrow man has been ordered to pay more than £9,000 after admitting he breached an injunction aimed at tackling car cruising and dangerous driving in Enfield.

Nojus Sartauskas, of Alveston Avenue, Harrow, admitted carrying out vehicle stunts in a white BMW on Lockfield Avenue, Enfield, on 1 August 2026.

The court heard that he performed a wheel spin and doughnuts, both of which were prohibited under an injunction secured by Enfield Council.

He also admitted removing the vehicle’s registration plates before taking part in the stunts.

Harrow man found in contempt of court

On 25 August, the Honourable Mrs Justice Brunner, sitting in the High Court of Justice, King’s Bench Division, found Mr Sartauskas in contempt of court.

He was fined £750 and ordered to pay Enfield Council’s legal costs of £8,484.40.

The total amount payable is £9,234.40, with the legal costs to be paid in monthly instalments of £500.

Police witnessed vehicle stunts

According to Enfield Council, Lockfield Avenue has been the subject of repeated reports of antisocial driving, vehicle nuisance and illegal racing.

Police officers monitoring the area witnessed the BMW carrying out the manoeuvres before stopping and arresting the driver.

Warning posters explaining the injunction and the possible penalties for breaching it had also been installed in the area earlier that day.

Cllr Alessandro Georgiou, Leader of Enfield Council, said: “Let’s be clear, car cruising, illegal racing and stunt driving are not harmless fun. They blight neighbourhoods, keep residents awake at night and put innocent people at risk.

“Those who treat our roads like a racetrack have no regard for the safety of others, and we will not tolerate it.”

Injunction introduced in 2025

Enfield Council secured the injunction in December 2025 following concerns about car cruising and vehicle-related antisocial behaviour.

It prohibits activities including racing, dangerous driving, vehicle stunts, excessive revving and behaviour that causes nuisance, alarm or distress.

The council said it will continue working with the Met Police to enforce the injunction and take action against people who breach it.
