Spice Village has opened its new restaurant in Harrow, with the team behind it saying they want the venue to become part of the local community rather than simply another place to eat.
The South Asian restaurant has opened on Station Road at the former Adore restaurant site.
For some of our older readers, the unit may also be familiar for another reason — it was once home to Blockbuster Video.
The opening follows Spice Village’s earlier announcement that it would be expanding into Harrow.
Manager Bilal Imtiaz said Harrow was chosen because of its diversity and strong local identity.
‘Food is something that brings us together’
He told Harrow Online: “Harrow stood out because of its diverse community and strong sense of local identity. There are people from so many backgrounds here, and food is something that brings us together. We felt Spice Village could make a real contribution, offering authentic South Asian cooking and a welcoming place for families and friends. We’ve also brought one of our largest vegetarian selections to Harrow, so there’s plenty for everyone around the table.”
The restaurant serves South Asian food and also includes a large vegetarian selection.

Early days for the new restaurant
Bilal said the team is still getting to know local residents and wants feedback to help shape the restaurant.
“It’s still very early days, so we’re taking time to get to know our neighbours and understand what matters to them. For us, opening the doors is just the beginning. We want to earn the trust of Harrow residents through the quality of our food, the warmth of our welcome and consistent service. Their feedback will help us shape the restaurant as we settle into the community.”
The team says it wants the restaurant to become a place used by local families, friends and groups for both everyday meals and special occasions.
Plans to support the Harrow community
Spice Village also wants to build relationships with organisations in Harrow and support local initiatives.
Bilal said: “We want this to be a place where people feel they belong, whether they’re celebrating a family milestone, meeting friends or enjoying a meal together. Beyond the restaurant, we’d like to build relationships with local organisations, support community initiatives and find meaningful ways to give back.
“Our journey has always been about cooking, sharing and bringing people together, and that’s the spirit we want to bring to Harrow.”
