A Pinner cheesemonger and wine bar has raised £1,000 for St Luke’s Hospice after holding a charity cheese and wine tasting.
Mouse & Grape, based on Marsh Road, donated all ticket sales from the event to the hospice, which provides specialist end-of-life and palliative care for people across Harrow and Brent.
Charity evening in Pinner
The event brought together customers and members of the local community for an evening of cheese and wine, hosted by founder Jessica Summer and the Mouse & Grape team.
Jessica said: “As a relatively small business, we do not always have huge amounts of spare cash to donate to charity. But we do have time, stock, a space, knowledge and a brilliant community of people who will show up.
“We donated those things, hosted an evening of cheese and wine, and our customers helped turn it into £1,000 for St Luke’s Hospice.
“St Luke’s is also very personal to me. They cared for both of my grandfathers at the end of their lives, so it meant a great deal to be able to support the charity in this way.”

Giving back to the local community
Mouse & Grape opened in Pinner in November 2024 and operates as a cheesemonger and wine bar, also offering hampers and tasting events.
Jessica said the fundraiser had made her think more about the ways small businesses can support their local community.
She added: “When I started Mouse & Grape, I was mainly focused on building the business. I did not really think about the good that having a business could allow us to do.
“This evening was a lovely reminder that small businesses can give back in ways that feel true to who they are. We can bring people together over something they enjoy and use that to do some good locally. I would love Mouse & Grape to do much more of this.”
The business thanked everyone who bought a ticket and attended the evening.
Supporting St Luke’s Hospice
St Luke’s Hospice provides free specialist care for people with life-limiting illnesses across Harrow and Brent, both at the hospice and in people’s homes.
Harrow Online has previously reported on other local fundraising efforts for the hospice. Earlier this year, Harrow resident Fionnuala Keane prepared to take on a 10,000ft skydive in memory of her mother-in-law, who had been cared for by St Luke’s.
In June, Harrow Online also reported on SKSS Temple Harrow supporting the hospice’s Starlight Walk as part of the temple’s 30th anniversary celebrations. The temple has supported St Luke’s for a number of years through fundraising and volunteering.
