A Stanmore man was one of two people sentenced for possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place.
Samuel Patterson, 29, from Stanmore, appeared at St Albans Crown Court on Friday 11 September.
He was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison, suspended for two years. Patterson must also complete 150 hours of unpaid work and rehabilitative activity.
Fight reported in Radlett
The case relates to an incident on Sunday 28 June, when police were called to reports of a fight in an alleyway between Orchard Close and Fairfield Close in Radlett.
The court heard that two men, later identified as Patterson and Jordan Short, 28, from Hatfield, were each seen holding a weapon.
Police attended but the pair had left the area. They were identified and arrested two days later.
Short appeared at Isleworth Crown Court on Wednesday 9 September and was sentenced to one year and five months in prison.
Both men had pleaded not guilty.
Properties closed after incident
Following the incident, police secured closure orders on two properties in Orchard Close and Fairfield Close which were linked to what happened.
The orders meant nobody could enter the properties for three months, apart from the named tenant and authorised personnel including the emergency services.
Sergeant Jo Skingley, from the Bushey and Radlett Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This incident, occurring in broad daylight, understandably caused much concern in the local area. Short and Patterson showed no regard to those around them who might have witnessed such a frightening incident. Thankfully there were no injuries but reports of weapons will always be taken seriously.
“I hope the news of their sentencing provides some reassurance that the matter was dealt with quickly and robustly.”
A third man, aged in his 20s and from Radlett, was arrested on suspicion of affray but was later released with no further action.
