Harrow solicitors are supporting ‘Make a Will Month’

This October solicitors in Middlesex have generously agreed to give up their time and expertise for free to support children and young people with cancer and to help members of the public to write or update their Will.

Local firms have joined forces with CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, for their Make a Will Month campaign.  During October, participating solicitors won’t charge clients who take up the offer for making or updating their Will.  Instead, they’re asking clients to join the fight for young lives against cancer by making a donation to CLIC Sargent.

All donations and gifts received as part of the charity’s Make a Will Month will go towards helping children, young people and their families in Middlesex and around the UK.

Local solicitors, Duncan Lewis Solicitors and The Seth Partnership Solicitors have signed up to Make a Will Month said:

“Having an up to date Will allows you to make sure that your money goes where you want it to – to the people or causes that you care about most. For many people, writing their Will provides peace of mind in knowing that their loved ones will be taken care of in the future.

“We also know how important donations and especially gifts in Wills are to charities, like CLIC Sargent, and to the children, young people and families whose lives have been devastated by cancer. Which is why we are delighted to be able to put our time and expertise to good use during Make a Will Month.”

After providing for their loved ones in their Will, many people also choose to use it as an opportunity to continue to support any charities that have played an important part in their life or that they feel passionate about – often leaving a percentage of the remainder of their estate to their chosen charity.

Helen Lam, CLIC Sargent Fundraising & Engagement Manager for Middlesex, said:

“We can’t thank enough Duncan Lewis Solicitors and The Seth Partnership Solicitors for generously given up their time and expertise for free to support CLIC Sargent during Make a Will Month.

“Today, 12 more children and young people in the UK will hear the devastating news that they have cancer. Taking part in CLIC Sargent’s Make a Will is a wonderful way to provide for your loved ones whilst also supporting these families. Cancer costs for families in so many ways but with your helps, we can fight for these families by providing practical, emotional and financial support, to help minimise the damage cancer causes.”

Last year in Middlesex, CLIC Sargent supported 206 local children and young people with cancer and their families. £26,830 was provided in grants to these families to help ease the financial burden that comes with a cancer diagnosis.
