A Christmas card designed by 9-year-old Momoko, a pupil at Weald Rise Primary School in Harrow Weald, was chosen as the best in the East of England in a competition by the recruiting experts, Hays Education.
The competition saw over 1,500 entries from Primary, Early Years and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) settings competing to be featured on a Christmas card that will be sent to schools all over the UK.
Momoko’s design was selected by the judges as the best in the East of England because of the creative references to Christmas and skilled colouring in with pencils and felt tips pens.
Momoko will win £50 in vouchers, an arts and craft gift and two framed certificates of her winning design.
Helen Mitchell, Deputy Headteacher at Weald Primary School, comments: “It’s important to participate in opportunities like the Hays Christmas Card competition, because everyone has the potential to do well. By trying, you give yourself the chance for your skills to be recognised by others. Congratulations to Momoko.”
Brett Coventry, Senior Manager at Hays Education, comments: “We’re delighted to present this award to Momoko for coming up with such a great design for her Christmas card. Well done to everyone who entered the competition and we look forward to seeing more great designs next year!”
