Police have recovered the dead body of a woman in the lake next to Howard Road, Stanmore this morning (27 June).
It is not known how the woman ended up in the water or the circumstances surrounding the incident at this time.
Police have said that they believe the woman is aged approximately 50 years old.
A large police presence including a forensics tent is currently at the scene in Stanmore.
Met Police told Harrow Online: “Police were called to Howard Road, Stanmore at 06:29hrs on Sunday, 27 June following reports that a body had been seen in a lake.
“Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics. The body of a deceased woman, believed to be approximately 50 years of age, was recovered from the water with assistance from the London Fire Brigade.
“Enquiries are under way to determine how the woman came to enter the water.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 101, providing the reference 2099/27JUN.”
