Christmas is on the horizon once again and as we’re sure you’ll agree, it wouldn’t be complete without the annual viewing of Will Ferrell’s Elf!
This year however, Buddy the Elf made an ‘appearance’ a little closer to Harrow – at the big Asda store in Watford!
Using classic footage from the movie, Buddy starts a new job at the store for Christmas! Clips from the 2003 film are used flawlessly to show Buddy interacting with Asda staff and dodging shopping trolleys! It’s a really well-made commercial, and possibly the best you’ll see this Christmas.
Posting about the new ad on social media, Watford Council posted: “Anybody notice Asda Watford feature in their new advert with Buddy the Elf? If you are looking to get into the festive spirit, make sure to come along to the Watford Christmas Lights Switch-On on 19 November.”
The advert was shot by directed by Danny Kleinman famous for his work on the title sequences for the James Bond films since 1995.

The superstore in Watford was kitted out for the advert with lights and tons of fake snow! So if you spotted that on the ground, this was the reason!
