Harrow Power Cut: Some Kenton and Kingsbury residents without electricity

Harrow residents in the Kenton and Kingsbury areas were hit by a power cut earlier this morning, causing disruption to around 41 customers.

The power outage has been a source of inconvenience for households in the affected postcodes of HA3 9 and NW9 in Kenton and Kingsbury according to the UK Power Network website.

In order to stay updated on the power cut, customers were advised to sign up for text alerts.

UK Power Networks has stated the reason for the power cut is due to them having to turn the power off so that their engineers can safely carry out emergency repairs to the network.

Update at 9:17am: A customer service update on the website said: “We became aware of a power cut at 09:17. We’re sorry for any disruption this may have caused you. We didn’t know in advance there would be a power cut but now that we know, our teams will do everything they can to get your power back quickly.”

Update at 09:47am: In another customer service update regarding the unplanned power cut, “We’re very sorry we’ve had to switch off your electricity. Our engineers have turned off the power in the Kenton Road area for safety so they can carry out repairs to some a piece of faulty network equipment. Our estimated time to have your power back on is between 09:30 and 10:30.”

Update at 10:05: Power restored to all but one property – “We can now confirm that all power in the area should be back on to all but one property. Our engineers turned off the power to safely repair some faulty network equipment in the Kenton Road area. We know that being without power can be especially difficult, so we’re sorry for the outage. Please rest assured our staff will continue to work around the clock to keep the lights on. If your power isn’t back on, we’d still like to keep you updated. If we aren’t currently in contact with you by phone or in person at your property, please call us on 08003163105 which is free from landlines and mobiles.”
