GreatFind Recruitment, a Harrow-based recruitment agency, has chosen to invest in the future by donating ten brand new laptops to St Bernadette’s School. Breaking away from the usual holiday extravagance, the agency redirected its Christmas marketing budget towards a cause that resonates deeply with the community – digital equality in education.
Recognising the crucial role technology plays in education, the agency aimed to address the digital divide by providing cutting-edge laptops to St Bernadette’s School in Harrow. The initiative, born out of a desire to support those who need it most, aligns with GreatFind Recruitment’s commitment to educational growth and digital literacy within the local community.
St Bernadette’s School welcomed the generous donation as a step towards ensuring all students have access to the tools necessary for a modern education.
Headteacher, David O’Farrell, shared his gratitude: “On behalf of all of the children at St Bernadette’s, I would like to thank you for your kind donation of 10 laptops this week. This is a remarkable donation, and it will enable us to fully support our most vulnerable children and those with special education needs, both at school and at home. They will be used to support learning and they should inspire our children to make excellent progress.”
Curious about how the students felt about this donation, they were asked, “What is something new you hope to learn using the laptops?” Their responses were diverse and inspiring: “Coding”, “Maths”, “Photo Editing”, “Games”, and “Website Design.”
When asked, “Why do you think it’s good to have laptops and technology in schools?” one pupil mentioned, “to learn how to be safe on the internet,” another highlighted, “to help with our maths and science studies,” while another observed, “it makes learning more fun.”
GreatFind Director, Ravi Patel commented “This is just the beginning of our journey to support digital equality. The enthusiasm of the students here at St Bernadette’s have further fuelled our commitment to this cause. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute and excited to see the impact of our efforts.
“As we look towards the future, GreatFind Recruitment remains dedicated to empowering young minds through technology, ensuring that it continues to be a source of learning, inspiration, and progress.”
Charlotte Harte, Marketing & Communications Officer at GreatFind Recruitment, added, “This initiative is close to our hearts. We understand the transformative impact technology can have on education. By providing these laptops, we hope to open new doors of opportunity and learning for the students at St Bernadette’s School. It’s a privilege to be part of a project that directly contributes to the educational enrichment and future success of these young minds.”
