Attempted aggravated burglary reported in Harrow

A recent attempted aggravated burglary happened on Darcy Gardens in Kenton, Harrow. The incident occurred on Monday 4th March.

Darcy Gardens, based just off Darcy Drive adjacent to Charlton Road, a link between Kenton and Queensbury, was the site of the attempted burglary. PCSO Muhammad Nawaz issued a warning to all residents, urging them to ensure the security of their homes.

In a post on the OWL website, Nawaz noted the importance of locking and securing front doors. He specifically highlighted the vulnerability of UPVC front doors, cautioning that merely closing them is not enough. Residents were advised to double-lock these doors by lifting the handle and securing them properly.

Aggravated burglary is defined at section 10 TA 1968 Act as follows: “A person is guilty of aggravated burglary if they commit any burglary and at the time has with them any firearm or imitation firearm, any weapon of offence, or any explosive.”

Nawaz urged anyone who witnessed or heard anything suspicious related to the incident to come forward with information.

Harrow residents were encouraged to report any relevant details either through OWL or by contacting the police directly at 101, quoting the crime reference number 01/42484/24.
