Hillingdon Council has confirmed a new operator for the Beck Theatre in Hayes.
A 15-year lease has been agreed with Parkwood Theatres, with the option to extend the agreement by up to 10 years.
The council stated that the transition from Trafalgar Theatres, whose partnership ends on 13 January, will be seamless, with no closure of the theatre required.
The new agreement was reached after Hillingdon Council appointed consultants Blue Horizon to find a replacement operator. Trafalgar Theatres announced in September that it would end its partnership with the council, and negotiations for a renewed contract fell through in October. Following Blue Horizon’s involvement, six interested parties were shortlisted, with the council selecting Parkwood Theatres this week.
Parkwood Theatres was chosen based on its alignment with the council’s priorities to maintain the Beck Theatre’s cultural identity, ensure financial sustainability without public subsidy, and enhance community engagement through diverse programming.

We said we were committed to keeping the theatre open as we recognise the importance of this theatre for the local community and beyond, particularly for the many generations that have visited and hold those memories dear.
“We now look forward to working with Parkwood on creating new memories for theatre-goers for many years to come.”

Parkwood Theatres is expected to take over operations at the Beck Theatre in mid-January.
