Car goes up in flames after crashing into lamppost in North Harrow

A male has been arrested by police after crashing into a lamppost in Pinner Road, North Harrow last night (28 November) at around 10pm.

Images and footage of the incident came into Harrow Online after the vehicle had caught fire following the collision. Emergency services rushed to the scene and swiftly tackled the blaze outside Euro Hotel on Pinner Road, Harrow.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “We attended an incident where a car was in collision with street furniture. Two men left the vehicle before the Brigade arrived and were treated by London Ambulance Service crews at the scene. The Brigade was called at 2201 and the incident was all over for the Brigade by 2224.”

A spokesperson for Met Police said: “On Monday 28th November at approximately 10pm, a male was seen driving erratically on Pinner Road by a member of the public. The car which had been seen then crashed into a lamppost and then caught fire. No members of the public were injured. Police arrived on scene at 10.04pm and the driver was breathalysed and drug swiped at the scene by Police.

“The driver of the vehicle was arrested by officers from Wembley Police station and the male has since been bailed pending further evidence to the investigation.”
