Harrow residents have been discussing what they love about living in the borough ahead of Valentine’s Day.
When asked what are the best things about living in Harrow via the Harrow Online Group on Facebook, residents responded with a variety of things that make Harrow a better place for us all to live and work.
Some of the best responses are listed below…
Emma Wallis said: “The parks – in particular, Pinner Memorial Park”
David Lawes said: “Transport links to just about everywhere, e.g. Midlands and North via Harrow and Wealdstone, Heathrow via the X140 bus. Four tube lines (Met, Jubilee, Piccadilly and Bakerloo) serve the borough. Smashing green spaces (Harrow Hill, Stanmore Common, Harrow Weald Common, Bentley Priory).”
John John Jones said: “Good: It has amazing transport links. The predominantly Asian population behaves itself really well. Green spaces are everywhere. Schools are ok. St Dominic’s 6th Form College is outstanding. Harrow on the Hill is delightful. Cultural diversity is fun and different races in North London get on with each other – I am glad my children learned so much about different cultures from growing up here. The mix of people picnicking and hanging out in Harrow Recreation Ground in the summer is inspiring. Err, we have lots of convenient supermarkets.”
Derek Marip said: “The lots of food options in Harrow Town Centre makes for some difficult decisions, I know people moan that there are too many but in all honesty, I think we are lucky to have so many options and more coming soon.”
Kaushik Joshi commented: “Lots of lovely parks and good transport links.”
Sita Patel said: “Boxtree Park in the summertime, and especially as the weather gets warmer in general as its a lovely park to walk around. I can’t wait for the new footpath to be ready for us to try.”
Jon Langford said: “Great diversity…great transport…..lovely parks…..good schools”
Jason P said: “Going for long walks in Old Redding on a cold winter’s night, you can see across Harrow on a clear night and if you go on Bonfire night, you can see all the fireworks from across the whole of Harrow.”
Andrew Martin commented: “The older I get the less I find to love about it anymore but I must say, compared to many other places I’ve been to Harrow has some of the nicest parks of any London borough. There is literally something for everyone and it’s perfect for dog walks and picnics in the summer.”
Larissa Parmar commented: “The parks and the sunsets.”
