Burglary Alert: Property in Harrow targeted by thieves

PCSO Claire Orr issued a warning following a burglary incident that occurred on Monday night, March 4th. The incident took place during the early hours at an empty property on Uppingham Avenue in Harrow.

According to Orr’s post on the OWL website, the suspect(s) gained entry to the property by breaking into the rear using a crowbar, causing damage to the patio doors. The targeted property is situated just off Streatfield Road and Weston Drive.

This news arrives alongside reports of an attempted aggravated burglary on the same night, not far from the Uppingham Avenue incident.

To prevent such incidents, Orr advised residents to take necessary precautions:

  • Lock all doors and windows when leaving the property, regardless of the duration.
  • Ensure that locks are strong enough to deter burglars.
  • Consider installing a burglar alarm for added security.
  • Remove bins from gates and fencing, as these could be used as climbing aids by potential intruders.

Harrow residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police online or via 101 promptly.
